Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Community Development Certificate (NQF Level 5).
  • Basic knowledge of community development/work.
  • Understanding of social dynamics within communities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with community development structures.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Community Development Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

  1. Identifying and Facilitating Community Development Initiatives:
    • Establishing social relationships with community members and stakeholders.
    • Assessing community needs, available resources, and service delivery challenges.
    • Profiling communities and households to determine socio-economic conditions.
  2. Planning and Implementation:
    • Assisting in formulating community development goals and objectives.
    • Helping communities prioritize activities and utilize available resources effectively.
    • Supporting budgeting and financial planning for community projects.
  3. Administrative Support and Monitoring:
    • Liaising with and coordinating stakeholders for effective project implementation.
    • Assisting in the registration and monitoring of Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs).
    • Ensuring compliance with the NPO Act and PFMA regulations.
    • Coordinating awareness campaigns and public education programs.
